What is DB17
DB17 is a universal liquid descaler (1-litre format) for removing limescale deposits from coffee machines, boilers, steam cleaning systems, washing machines and dishwashers. Tap water contains calcium and magnesium salts which, when heated, form limescale deposits capable of blocking pipes and causing malfunctions. DB17’s high-power descaling formula removes these deposits, while its corrosion inhibitors protect the appliance’s metal parts, extending its working life. The product leaves no residue, is odourless and restores shine to metal surfaces.
When to use it
- When you notice a drop in efficiency in the appliance: longer cycles, less water heating, lower steam pressure.
- If you live in an area with hard water, where limescale forms more quickly.
- As periodic preventive maintenance, to stop limescale from blocking pipes and components.
- When you need a single product to treat several different appliances at home or in the office (coffee machines, kettles, washing machine, dishwasher).
How to use it (instructions vary depending on the appliance)
Washing machines and dishwashers
- Empty the appliance.
- Pour 500 ml of product onto the bottom of the appliance.
- Start a wash cycle at 60°C, without prewash.
Kettles and humidifiers
- Pour 50 ml of product with 200 ml of water into the appliance.
- Leave to act for about 60 minutes.
- Rinse 2-3 times.
Coffee machines
- Pour 50 ml of product with 200 ml of water into the tank.
- Turn on the machine and press the dispensing button to let the solution flow through.
- Rinse 2-3 times.

Unlike other powder descalers, DB17 contains phosphoric acid and carries a hazard pictogram: it can cause severe skin burns and serious eye damage. It must therefore be handled with due care:
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Avoid contact with eyes and skin; do not breathe in any product aerosol.
- In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with water for several minutes, removing contact lenses if easy to do so.
- In case of contact with skin or hair, immediately remove contaminated clothing and rinse thoroughly (or take a shower).
- Keep the container or label available in case of medical consultation.
- Wash hands thoroughly after use and dispose of the product and container in accordance with applicable regulations.
